Welcome!

Welcome to my new art blog! I created this blog specifically for the purposes of posting about my artwork - both finished and in progress, drawn and photographed, as well as whatever other creative endeavors I might be pursuing at the moment. I'll still be using my website as a catalog for my finished works (www.browserbeware.com), but this is a space that I'll update more frequently with things other than finished works, drabbles, and works in progress.

To get things started, I've made several posts about the things that I've been working on in the past few weeks. Currently I'm working on a body of night photography images, as well as working on a series of drawings for Joshua BishopRoby's upcoming game Sons of Liberty.

And this here, actually, is something that I've been working on as of today. It has yet to be colored, but I'm pretty happy with the lineart as it is. So here you go.

Neighborhood Night Photography

Last week I went on an expedition around the neighborhood after dark, experimenting with the long-exposure capability of my new camera. I've always loved doing night photography, because it makes everything look so surreal and otherworldly. I can't wait until the trees have leaves again, because it will make the results of my expeditions all that much more entertaining. (That's one thing I still haven't gotten used to about Canada versus Ohio. We're more than a month behind in terms of leaves!)

The color shifts you get with night photography are so strange. This picture is perfect evidence - look at the violent greens and oranges. The long exposure plays tricks on the camera and makes colors more extreme than they really are.

This is my favorite out of all the photographs I took. The light in the distance, the composition of the branches... I love this.

The moon was actually a crescent moon that night, but because of the long exposure it turned out looking round. Wacky.

If it doesn't rain tonight, I'll be going out - though I'll need a flash light to keep myself from breaking my neck in the dark.

March snow

I first got my brand new camera in March, at which point I ventured out to take some pictures of the snow. The first two pictures are pictures that were taken on the community trails near our apartment. The second two were taken in a park near Lake Ontario in Oshawa.

Sons of Liberty

A few months ago, Joshua BishopRay took me on as an artist for an upcoming project of his called Sons of Liberty - a very, very, very alternate universe take on the American Revolutionary War. I'm to do a total of thirteen pieces over the next few months, though these three are all I've completed so far.

It's been a very strange and amusing project to work on. I can't wait to tackle some of these pieces head on.

More will be coming shortly as I continue to work on and finish new pieces.
